I am going through the exact same thing with my 2001 9-5, mine at about 25000 miles. The dealer has done the same repair to no avail. The smoke is from the tailpipe, at start-up only for about 2secs. The dealer insists this is a normal amount of oil leakage from engine seals, but I am not satified b/c the car is under warranty and the smoke can be excessive. Definitely do the crankcase vent repair, it is a service recall for this car. Good luck!
