There are a lot of different tires in the MXV4 product line. I agree that the OEM MXV4's on my 2001 9-5 SE were very poor in the rain and were also very noisey. When it came time for replacement, I went with the MXV4 Energy Plus. This tire is very good in the rain. It doesn't break loose when pulling out and turning on wet pavement. It is also extremely quiet.
These new tires handled the recent winter in Pennsylvania with no problems. They are however, rather expensive.
