If I read all the info correctly, the PPC comes with perload version of what should be your existing software. The only time will will download your software is if it doesn't recognize what is installed in your car. Then if I understand it correctly, it won't tune your car until you download the existing software, send it to Sweden and get back a "tweeked" version of the existing software back from SBR. I hope that is the case because it didn't try to download my existing software.
As to what it said when I first hooked it up, quite frankly I don't remember. Sorry about that. I do know it didn't ask if I wanted to download the existing software but that is about it. I also know my car is somewhat hotter than it was before the PPC did it's thing and it a lot more than can be accounted for by a new airfilter and sparkplugs, so it must have done something.
Brooks.
