that's odd, mine doesn't have lug nuts

You'll have to post a picture, I thought that all 9-5's use lug bolts.
And my lug bolts don't show any rust. I switch summer/winter twice a year, always do it myself. Haven't had any problems with the stock lug bolts or the Ronal lug bolts.
Now, the mating surface between the rotor and the wheel does rust some. I've never had a problem removing the wheel. I just use a wire brush and touch up the rotor and the wheel with each change.
Also, for every car, truck, and even the rear wheel on my bike, I always give a shot of WD-40 to the lug bolt when I have it apart.
