Traded in one car for a new truck, deal was finalized in the office, saleman had my plates and all stuff from my car transferred over to the truck. Went into the business office filled out all the paperwork and the sale manager came in and said deal was off because the Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland go for sticker(when they first came out) without rebates and right away started reworking the deal for a different truck. I said no, we had a deal, blah, blah, blah. After a small fight he let me leave with the truck for $100 over invoice minus $3000 in rebates. Monday morning I get a call at work "Chrysler rejected your credit application and you need to return the truck by noon" Clearly knowing that there was no way my credit was rejected, I called Chrysler Credit myself and explained the situation and they had no idea what I was talking about and there was no record of my application. Called the dealer back to let them know what I found out and he denied it all, of course, and said he is sending a porter over to my house with my old car to switch. I said sorry and offered to get Chrysler on the line. Now he thretened to call the police if the truck was returned that day and he was not obligated to find other financing for me followed by numerous insulting remarks. I went to my bank, got a loan that day and drove to the dealer, in my new truck, and gave the business manager a check. We filled out the paperwork and off I went followed by the sales manager yelling at me as I left. I wrote a letter to DC explaining what had happenned and they ended up sending me a $500 credit good for Jeep part/accessories/service.
