The jacks that come in cars are mega cheap and lame, but have no worries they're certainly up to the task of jacking it up to replace a wheel. A long ton is actually 2,240 lbs (short ton is 2,000, metric ton is 2,204) so that 2200 lb jack is actually a 1 ton jack. Any DIY'r should have a rolling hydraulic floor jack & stands, which generally don't come any smaller than 2 tons (popular model is the Craftsman 2.25 ton).
