yes for changing a tire etc, i agree with jeff that for any diy jobs a floor jack with a bit of reserve weight capacity is the way to go, with my floor jack i can lift the whole side of my 9-3 which makes jobs such as tire rotation a lot easier. don't forget the jack stands if doing any jobs requiring under car work.
