I have a 99 9-5 SE. I consider myself a DIY and I have been able to accompolish quite a few repairs on my own (i.e. power steering pump, water pump, brakes). My latest problem has been the failure of the hydraulic unit (ABS/TCS unit). I was able to do a lot of the trouble shooting on my own and pinpointed the failure to the valve body, but paid $70 to my local mechanic to verify the failure.
I'm overall pleased with the 9-5. My biggest complaint is with the failure of the water and power steering pumps. From what I've read on the board, excessive failure of "DI" units seems to be common.
So far, I've been lucky.
