I just did the 120,000 mile service yesterday on my 2000lpt. I have been checking, cleaning, and regapping the plugs at 10,000 mile intervals and replacing at 30,000 mile intervals. The clean and regap helps a lot, but there is still a tremendous difference when new plugs are installed.
I had independently decided yesterday that I would replace the plugs at future 10,000 mile intervals rather than just do a clean and gap - shoot, the cost of 4 plugs is less than the cost of a bottle of Techron which I add every 5,000 miles! Glad to know I am not alone in my thoughts.
