From my own experience with the Sirius relay switch, the SIRSWB, the difference was profound, the sound clear, without the "muddiness" prior to installing the switch.
What I suspect is that without the switch, the sensitivity of SAABS diversity antenna was picking up remote FM static and "bleeding" into the sat radio FM frequency, it didn't matter which frequency was chosen, there was still that "muddiness".
Other users have reported the same result, however, on the SAAB radio I was able to select and hear normal FM stations even with the sat radio on, this was true for weather band as well.
AM on the other hand was a problem and required turning off the sat radio to work.
I'd expect that the XM Commander relay switch will perform the same task, it certainly looks the same as the Sirius switch by the diagram, though you will need to get European antenna adapters to suit - (about $10 for the pair from Crutchfields).
Fitting is fairly easy, and well worth the effort, you'll be more than happy with the result.
I've had both services, but prefer Sirius' offerings.
