Just curious if any of the other folks on here with the post-pcv update oil problems have been doing this 'test' to their 9-5?
Saab has me on my 4th 1000 mile test for oil consumption. They've all been consistent so far...about 2.25 quarts gone in a 1000 miles of driving. They said I have to keep on doing this until they say so. This is gettin absurd considering the dealer is an hour away and I have to wait about an hour each time just to be told "your oil is low, we'll top it off, come back in 1000 miles."
How many more times do I have to go through this? Gas isn't cheap these days, hour each way to the dealer, and they insist it has nothing to do with the PCV mod. Mechanic basically told me flat out that I'm burning oil at highway speeds and he recommends I get a new engine. That's the mechanic saying this and he doesn't understand why there's such a series of the same 'tests' over and over. Of course SAAB USA is saying 'this is procedure'.
No one will answer any of my questions at customer service or the dealership. They won't even let me check the oil myself and phone in the results, or even let my indy down the road do it. They said If someone else checks it, I'll have to start the process all over again. Any ideas?
