Quarry trucks in NJ carry basalt of all shapes and sizes. That's pretty unforgiving rock. Always try and keep a BMW between you and quarry trucks.
Big truck tires flip some weird stuff into the air, especially on the TPK and Rtes 1&9. If it doesn't land on the hood, it finds its way into the tires.
All the trucks headed to and from various landfills are covered, but still spew the most interesting collection of effluvium.
We're getting into cold-mix asphalt season. You know, the stuff they just shovel into potholes and don't roll out. Great stuff, that...
Oh, sand on the roads when the snows come will be an issue before too long.
The hood protector ought to be standard equipment in our fair state.
