LAero,
I have a 2000 Aero and live in the SF Bay Area. If you look at the fuel filler door, it says you can use a minimum of 86 octane. Mind you when I do use 87 octane gas, even from a name brand, there is some very light knocking while performance and gas mileage do drop somewhat. I have not had these issues once I use 89 octane gas or higher at the same stations. Definitely using 91 octane gas will not experience any of these issues that I experienced at 87 octane. So just fill up with the premium gas and enjoy! Take care.
Ben
