Salt water, forget about it.
Fresh water???????
On modern cars it is a whole bunch of computer mounted low (like under seat and so forth) so you really need to think about what it maybe end up to cost if all of them needs to be replaced.
And the hazzle if they go out one by one during years to come even though they worked good when you restored the car.
How deep of water is of big consideration.
When I came over to the US in 92, Los Angeles had the first heavy rain storms in 6 years or so. I did several drying out projects that had sat in underground garages as my first jobs. This was cars made in the 80s and not that many computers but one model always was more expensive to repair.
The 900 with passive restraint system (automatic seatbelts.
The computer for the belts were placed under rear seat and flooded instantly when the water got up to that height and since it is "always on" it fried right away.
