Alarm remote not working again and again

Hello,
I'm having troubles with the alarm system in my '99 9-5 Wagon. It works when I manually unlock the car with a key but the remote fob is refusing to work.
When I got the car the fob did not work. I took to a mechanic and reset the alarm and it was working for two days and then it stopped. At the time SID was showing "SERVICE THEFT ALARM" message. Mechanic pulled out the code which was weak siren battery. I changed it. Now there is no messages on SID when I start the car. I let mechanic reset the alarm after I changed the battery in the siren and the fob worked in his shop. Once we got home it stopped working again.
Has anybody have any idea about what could go wrong? Is there any battery in T.W.I.C.E. computer that could be weak? At the point I'm thinking about getting used T.W.I.C.E. Also does anybody know location of the alarm receiver in the car? I would like to check it out before I'll go for the T.W.I.C.E. .
Thank you very much,
Radek
