I think your first responsibility here is to you. You have to make sure the car is worth it. No amount of free repair work is going make a poorly maintained headache of a car worth it. And getting a dopey salesman or service guy can be downright frustrating.
Getting info about the cpo can be difficult for some reason. I would call saab customer service if you are not getting answers to your questions at the dealer. When you buy the car you should have with the paper work the inspection certificate where the mechanic checked off all the inspection items qualifing the car for cpo. There is also a contract that will detail all the aspects of saabs warranty. This document is titled "Saab certified pre-owned vehicle service contract registration" It was included when I picked up my car. In fact it required my signature. You should be able to read it before you buy, if you ask for it. If anything is not up to par when the inspection and certification occurs I would insist it be fixed or replaced. As some have said, the first 30 days and the dealer pays, after that saab pays. But that shouldn't be your concern, except that its probably eaisier to get saab to pay than to get the dealer to pay.
Basically the saab cpo covers the car from bumper to bumper, and I don't know of any deductable. You are also entitled to a free loaner under certain conditions. Some saab cars have 36000 miles of maintenance included for free.
I have started to ramble so just let me close by saying good luck. Take your time buying the car. If there's something you can't put your finger on but it's bothering you, wait. Keep looking. There are lots of good cars out there.
