This is my point EXACTLY and one I tried to make to the service manager. It is a mechanical device and ANYTHING could fail. Heck, by that reasoning I should just have a whole new motor put in every so often just in case something fails.

Again, my problem is with the fact they made it seem like the pulley had something wrong with it and had to be replaced RIGHT NOW. I could have waiting and, sure, it could have failed the next day but it might not have. If it would have lasted for 2-4 weeks I would have probably replaced it anyway and paid for it with no questions asked.

And another poster mentioned the attitude at Ramsey Saab. They are right. They used to have another service manager who was HORRIBLE and I was close to looking for another dealer. Then they fired the guy and things were a little better. In fact, I was speaking to a girl who worked there (the only reasonable person at the time, btw) and she explained the guy had been fired because of his attitude and they caught him doing something illegal.

Well, they moved into another location (not in with Volvo any longer) and I hoped things would be different. Apparently they're back to what they used to be. No attention to detail. Heck, they downloaded new software to the car and it (apparently) reset my time/date. They didn't even set them again! Ok, minor one there but when you spend the money on these cars and the service the least they could do is pamper you a little. I venture to guess had I gotten a BMW serviced they wouldn't have forgotten to reset the time/date.
