I drive a 2000 Aero and I drive Linears and Arcs all the time and there's a noticable difference. I know things were changed around for 2002, but to state a Linear has the same suspension as an 00-01 Aero ain't true. There must be a measure of "over 1100 improvements" hype in the statement attributed in C&D. Come to think of it, C&D has always been a little too much hype for me.
The Aeros are universally lower, firmer and corner flatter. It's not just the 17's. We have a 2004 Arc with the 17's and it does not compare in ride and handling to my 2000 Aero.
I have been looking at 2002+ Linears and Arcs and they may sit a skosh lower than previous years, but the 2004 Arc with the 17's which has the same lower bodywork as my 2000 Aero sits noticably higher.
You can't paddle shift a 2002 Linear, and they have that funky lightwood dash and console, which I used to love when I was selling them that year. They do have the same seats and the Linear only books for a skosh more, I still vote Aero for the power, looks and handling.
