Some may think it's the squeaky wheel board, but I don't. All these failures are made up. I guess the real question is how large a percentage of SAABs suffer from the same thing.
Parts fail, but there does seem to be a high failure rate with DIs. I know, some have never experience one, but how many of us think of the DI as they are driving off on that long trip? In 35 yrs of driving, I've only experienced 1 ignition related on the road failure.
Don't forget the tensioner assembly on V6 engines. Failure at 50k-70k is not normal nor are water pump or heater blower motor failures. I'm sure there are other parts.
Are these failures outrside the norm, that's a good question. IMHO, enough owners have suffered from premature failure to make me think that those that they aren't just "squeaky wheels" or otherwise upset. These parts should be more reliable.
