I could spread that gospel, the "1,100 improvements" for 2002, and I did in 2002, but the most significant one in my mind is the Aero seats. Those you notice right away all the time.
Going straight down the road none of other 1,100 improvements matter a twit. And if you don't get an Aero, this fella' is looking at an SE, then so what. The new front suspension and steering is different, but you must drive back to back to back to tell. Same with the 5 speed auto, both trannies are so good you really have to work at finding the difference. The last 2004 Arc I sold the owner swears his daughters 2001 2.3lpt is nicer.
IMHO a 1999-2001 is still a great 9-5. The 2002 was a very slight improvement, but on the other hand there were no "vices" or problems that 2002 fixed or that needed fixing.
BTW, ESP arrived in 2002 on the Linears with premium package, and standard on Arcs and Aeros.
