Having to top off every 4-6 mos is not that much; it's been pressure tested twice w/o being able to find the leak, which is very intermittant. I just finally was able to see some coolant residue. Two independants felt I should hold off on it; the dealer was on a freebee 100k+ checkover to find service work.

I'm pretty particular about fluids; it gets checked at least every tank which is more often than the average person by a lot. In addition, I've changed the temp gauge w/a Tech II to reflect what's really going on with the engine temp, not what most get with the barely better than idiot light settings the gauge is programmed to show. I'm fairly in tune w/the car.

I keep a pretty close eye on it. Having had the seized idler pulley/shredded serpentine belt experience, the SID pretty much screams at you to check gauges.

Thanks for the advise, though. If it starts making any noise, showing any wobble, or going thru more than the small leaking it's got now, I'd do it. Otherwise, I'm likely to put it off a bit longer till I'm due for another serpentine belt/pulley routine. If it goes about a year +/-, I'll do them all at once as regular maintenance and count myself lucky. If it goes sooner, I'll still do them all again, but I'll be more cranky about it!
