I am thinking about selling my Acura MDX and getting either a 2005 9-5 or waiting to see what happens in 2006. I had a Saab as a rental car for over 2 weeks a while back and I really liked it. Some of my concerns have to do with not ever owning a turbo vehicle. Is there more to be concerned about?

My driving habits have changes a lot. I went from communting 35 mintues everyday to working from home and I moved from a good size city to a small town and I do a lot of driving on surface streets. Much more than freeway driving. I notice how everyone comments on highway driving but how does it drive around town? Also I make at least 4 trips a year to San Diego from New Mexico. Would you buy this car if you didn't do a lot of highway driving? I like the idea of having a comfortable car, that is a little different from what everyone else is driving and has some kick when you need it. Is this the right car for me?

I have a 2004 Acura MDX and it is paid for so, I would probably sell it myself and not trade it in. I would be paying cash for it and the cash deals right now don't seem all that great. The Saab dealer told me to wait until the end of 2005 before making any decisions and that I could get a much better deal and all my options would be open. Although, he keeps trying to put me into a 2004. I really like having a navigation system so I would rather have a 2005. I haven't seen one with a navigation system so if it isn't all that great (the one in the Acura is really good) I could do a 2003 or 2004 amd probably put some money back in my pocket!

The MDX was good in theory...solid reliability, good design, nice features but I have had about 5 unscheduled trips to the dealer in the last 9 months. I wouldn't mind so much if it were a little more fun to drive. Also my need for a 7 passenger vehicle has changed. In my opinion Acuras are lacking in the "soul" department. Of course everyone on the Acura board had horrible things to say about Saabs but they are all jaded.

So my question is what kind of savings were there at the end of last year? Is 2006 a complete redesign? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
