To address your question about non highway driving, that is where you will really appreciate the Saab. It is very maneuverable, responsive, sporty, and a lot of fun to drive. I do a lot of mixed driving (16 years of Saabs) and find the car to be very comfortable and versatile. I test drove an MDX a few years ago and although I thought it was a very nice package (we have owned 3 Acuras) it was just a large, non responsive vehicle to get from one place to the next. As for the turbo, keep in mind that this is a problem solving board, and people come here when they have issues. There are plently of people who have never had a problem with a turbo, a SID, a DIC, etc. If you really enjoy driving, not just getting from one place to another, you will appreciate and enjoy the "fun factor" of the Saab.
Good Luck,
AeroLady
