I live in Denver and take my vehicle (9-5 SW '00). It does fine. Given your situation, I would stay with the SAAB, and spend the savings on some nice skis and maybe a pair of winter tires. I have the new Nokian all seasons on mine and never have had a problem. That said, there is no question, all things being equal (including tires), AWD is much better than 2wd. Simple fact of physics. But given that you don't live in the mountains where it snows all the time, save the $$ and get the SAAB.
