Ignition switch does sound like it makes sense--everything lit up similar to when starting up, and the car wouldn't respond after coasting to the shoulder. never had a problem starting tho, just running. of course it starts up fine for the dealer now.

good point keeping dry under the seat-- we do have a 1-yr-old-- but no spills on that clear dry weekend.

seemed logical too that the shutdown was related to the stoplight shudder, but of course it was just an assumption. that led us more to the TB and the CKP sensor.

Is there a way to test the ignition switch to see if it's the problem?

have you heard of the limp home solenoid itself needing replacement?
