I hated that car at times. There was always something wrong, and I had no money to buy parts, even boneyard items. I sold it when I was given an 84 900t my sophmore year. That car was a bit better, until the trans died. I needed money, so I sold it when I was given an 86 900s the next year. Newer car = less problems. I had that car through law school until it died a premature when side swipped by a bus. I could maintain the 900s because every summer during law school I made some serious cash, the kind of cash that you can not make as a college student.
On the other hand, if you have a line on some income from parents, etc, do it. You will love it.
nb: my mother is a Saab nut, and gave me her hand me downs.
Good luck, and I feel your pain.
