re: cam cover. Easy (socket, extension, ratchet), fast (less than 30 min)and inexpensive (cost of o-rings) to replace the valve cover o-rings. (Be sure to use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts!)

re: smoke in exhaust. Is it blue (oil) or white (coolant). If white, you have a head gasket problem that needs done ASAP. If blue, there is probably not a quick, easy, cheap fix. Everything from the turbo, valves, and rings are major projects. OTOH, most of these will go quite a long time before causing major problems.

re: transmission. If you are unsure of age, I would put this high on the list. When you change, remember to flush if the oil is old. If you have gear oil, use gear oil. Mobil synthetic has been highly recommended. If you have motor oil, choices are regular 10w30, Mobil 1 10w30, Amsoil 20w50, Redline MTL. I use redline and really like it. Amsoil also strongly recommended.

re: headliner. Takes quite a bit of time, waiting doesn't increase risk of failure (like normal maintaince fluids), but looks like crap.
