Indeed... My reasoning for installing the coil cooler was in preparation for the turbo. I don't know much about the 2.1l engines, but I suspect the block is the same, as is the oil filter housing. If that's the case, installation is a *snap*. Unbolt the old oil filter housing, bolt on the new ones, bolt up the oil cooler, and run the lines. *Really* simple.
In terms of what it gets me, I have no clue. But, my NA Alfa and my NA SHO and the Contour SVT I almost bought all have engine oil coolers, so I suspect they are some good. In the case of the SHO and the Contour, SVT's logic was to keep the oil cooler during extended high RPM runs. I suspect Alfa's logic was the same. I tend to keep revs high (because you need to, because 125hp just isn't enough :) so for the $50 in parts it cost, it seems like reasonable protection. My only concern was not letting the engine oil get warm enough, but conveniently Saab integrated a thermostat into it, so no problem there... :)
