Not so good for me either...

So far, here's what's gone wrong with my 89 900T:
Water pump
Fuel Pump
Head gasket
Muffler
4 valve lifters
Turbo bypass valve
Harmonic balancer
Front motor mount
Heater Control Valve
AIC
Cracking dash (no big surprise here...)
(Also, a subtle "bad sound" when revving from idle is leading my mechanic to hypothesize that I've probably got a bad rod bearing. I've been cautioned against boosting performance :(
The first four items on the list happened in the car's early years: less than 90k miles. The remaining items went south after. Car now has only 124k.
Given that my first Saab ('78 99) had over *300,000* miles on it when I sold it, I'm not too confident that my '89 will last as long. However, my '89's long list of troubles could be an anomoly - ask your favorite Saab mechanic what they think, and go to your library for old Consumer Reports articles with used car reliability statistics.
PS I will *never* buy another car with passive belts...
