over 100F ambient qualifies as extremely hot, and cooling the turbo (with oil in 85) adds to the heat load on eng and oil.
15-40 is an excellent choice for the hot summer, it has great 300F high temp shear capacity, and is HD diesel qualified, and good cold pour points. Audi spec's it for summer use, and 5-30 or 10-30 for cold winters.
10-30 is better for winter .... better cold perf as turbo spools quicker. don't use 5-30 unless synthetic, IMHO.
To correct some adjacent mis-information:
1) Saabs don't run hot, unless there is a problem. Coolant is kept between 180 and anout 205F, by design. And the large, alum cast sump does a great job of naturally rejecting heat.
2) thicker than needed oils will make a turbo sluggish when cold.
3) synthetics take higher heat due to the base stocks and less additives, not due to the heat transfer properties, which are not significantly different than same viscosity conventional oils.
