I'll start out by saying what I always do. The $15 spacer ring is well worth it. In your case you can do a couple things. You can cut the slave in half like other post mentioned. I have actually rented one of those chainsaw type of tools with a big cutting wheel on it! OR remove 3 bolts that attach slave cyl to tranny. THen use a big screwdriver to pry it away from tranny a little. THen shove a pickle fork in and pry the slave cyl, throw out bearing, and clutch in to get your spacer in.
It looks like your slave is shot but normally if the spacer ring is not seated all the way you can let the clutch pedal out and press it again. It will press clutch in even farther allowing you to seat the ring 100% Be careful with new slave so you don't scratch it up with the new pressure plate during install.
