You said the headliner was recently replaced. I assume, then, that you didn't do it. When the put the drain hoses back in place, they put the one above your head on top of/in the headliner. This is how I found my '85. Water would drain in the hose, sit on top the headliner, then when I started to move the car, it would all pour out near the A-pillar. Take off the parts that are in place of your oh-s*** handle and the sunvisor. Pull down the headliner a little (it will wrinkle, but will straighten itself out when you put it back up.) Hopefully, you'll find the hose laying across the roof/headliner from left to right. It's supposed to do down the A-pillar so move it from where it is, and direct it down there.
