I did the same procedure in my 88 900S. I installed a pair of Rockford Fosgate 6.5" components in the rear armrest area. I put the woofer right above where your arm would go if you rested your arm on the arm rest, and I put the tweeter right about where the rear passengers outside elbow would be.. You'll see what I mean once you're looking at it. Anyways, the material that the door panel is made out of is fairly soft and easily cut. I just cut the hole out with a jig saw.. I didn't even take the door panel out of the car. piece of cake.. :o) Just make before-hand that you have enough room behind the panel for the speaker (my speakers BARELY fit)..
