In a year I am going to be commisioned an officer in the Marine Corps and I am going to most likely have a Ford diesel pickup truck. I currently drive a leased base 9-3 that my sister and I share at my college. My sister is going to take over the remaining year of the lease when I go off the the Marines. I will most likely get the truck to go offroading and to haul my stuff around to different bases. I like ford diesels but I am going to miss driving a saab. Since I am going to be single and have housing taken care of for me I am going to have a decent amount of money to spend. How expensive would it be to get a classic 900 turbo and put some money into fixing it up and putting lots of modifications on it. It would be fun to have one as a driving car and something that handled really good. I figure I would spend something between $2000-$4000 dollars to buy one. How much would I be looking at spending on aftermarket parts. I would be looking at getting good springs, anti-sway bars, shocks, good tires, enough mods to the engine for about 230-250 hp, and a decent clutch when the other one goes. I know there have been plenty of guys and gals in here that have modified their 900's and I would love to know what an expected total cost of the mods would be. I want to know this info because I might as well start looking for deals and different items over the next year. Thanks for helping a fellow saab nut out.
