Dwindling was not a good word. Sorry if I can't be really specific. I wouldn't know to ask. My mechanic said it was making noises and it was time to sell before i faced some costly repairs domn the road. He listed the cost of a new transmission, and said i'd need a clutch, too. I did not ask him further questions, I don't want to sell my car. It looks and drives great and it's the best car I've had. He's left for a month long (planned) vacation. What I've noticed (and this is the only saab i've ever driven outside of an automatic 9000s i borrowed) is that the shifter is little testy, there's a clink noise heard from the underside front at gears 1 and 2, and the clutch sometimes has more play than others. That's all i can tell you. I was thinking of practical, simple remedies, or rather, big glaring DON'Ts that might ease the transmission into a couple more miles. But any help is great.
