do not keep the clutch pressed in any more than necessary at a stop sign sicne the pressure is taken up by the thrust bearing on #2 main brg. other than that just learn to shift by ear for a while to match engine rpm's. aplly lite pressure while shifting and you will learn to feel the shifts. teh time between shifts is kind of proportional to how fast you are accelerating. if it is sticky going into first from a dead stop hit second and let out enough clutch to take ou gear lash then hit 2nd. sometimes you may have to let clutch out ot spin gears and let it syncor into first gear as gears stop spinning. Do not downshift unless neccessary. brake pads are cheaper then a trans. when downshifting is required, push clutch in, blip throttle and catch the gear on the way down. usually about 2500 rpm drop between gears??.
