Agree with 89spg on vacuum leak check. Also, clean out throttle intake and Auto Idle Contol(AIC) valve with carb spray. AIC is metal cylinder with two hoses and an electical connector bolted to head near distributor. Make sure your throttle position switch is set right, see FAQ's on setting basic idle for easy step by step instructions.

If none of that helps, your problem may be a bad air mass meter (AMM). These control mixture along with O2 sensor. Until O2 sensor has heated up a slightly bad AMM will have a big effect on idle stability. If you have noticed flat spots and some surging under acceleration, you have another weak AMM symptom. The best way to check this is to swap a known good AMM with part code ending in 019. Sobstory has rebuilt ones for around $150-160?, dealer $300+.
