You can't paint anything with spraycans. Use a roller. (And before you yanks start bleating on come and see my car first).
Imitation short pile sheepskin roller with synthetic enamel, ie not cellulose or 2 pack. You want a single pack paint. 1000 grade wet sand the surface and off you go. 2 litres should paint the whole car. No runs, no sags, minimal masking, no overspray, no compressor, no spraygun, maybe $50 max. You get a nice, even depth of paint that you can machine polish safely and you even get orange peel, just like every factory paint job.
I would warn against black though. Hardest colour to paint, and keep clean. Keep the same colour. It is so much easier.
