Hello All,
First of all the car's not a Saab. If it was then I never would have let it sit for so long. It's an 81' VW Rabbit Convertible last tagged in 1994 and last started 2 years ago when we did some body work to it and changed the plugs, cap, and starter. My dad's given the order that I need to tag it or get it out of his driveway, so this (in addition to getting my 89' 900S ready for a commute on I95 in the Fall) is my August project.
Aside from the tune up stuff already covered, can someone plese give me a check list of stuff to do in order to get this car road worthy. I've been told flush the crank-case with deisel and all kinds of crazy stuff. I know to flush the coolant and bleed the brakes. But I don't have any idea what to do as far as the oil/fuel stuff.
Finally, a buddy of mine who's a mechanic (but who hasn't seen the car) told me that the "rubber seals are shot" because it's been sitting, and to forget it and scrap it.
Opinions?
