i did this hack on my '92 and it is a dream. In addition to the instructions, pop open the diff cover while you are there and clean out all the shards. It may also be a front motor mount, but that would also cause popping out in other gears as well. Make sure that you diagnose the turbo. It may be a simple as a ruptured hose or a bad hooter, etc. Make sure that teh gage on teh dash is hooked up. You only say that it 'doesn't work' and give no more info. I have heard of a siezed turbo, but this generally causes a car to not run or run barely with no power. I suspect it is another problem.
