You can get new waterpumps (and gasket!) from most of the site sponsors (see the bottom of the page). You can even find them at most autoparts stores. Yes, some are better than others, so I'd stick with a mail-order place that knows Saabs.
Yes, you can do it yourself. It's a pain, but you can do it yourself. Access is tough, but if you're patient, you can do it. The biggest hassle I have is in making sure all the old gasket material is off the engine block face before installing the new pump. If the old material comes off easily, you're golden. If it's subborn, it takes a lot of reaching, and a dental mirror comes in handy.
Get yourself a Bentley manual -it'll help a lot with this repair, and with the ones to follow. It's worth the $$. The Haynes manual is a second choice.
While you're buying the pump, get new belts. You have to take them off to replace the pump, so you might as well put new ones on.
