This topic comes up often on this board. If you want to read how I did it, click "more from Monster" above, then keep clicking "Next 50 matches" until you find "My pump story" back on 3 November. Check the other posts in that thread as well.
You can also do a site search on water pumps and find plenty of posts/advice.
I respectfully disagree with Evil Twin Skippy about some of the procedural cautions he lists. I did not need a T50 special socket to move my A/C out of the way. I did not have to remove the brake master cylinder to move the alternator, or take off the "main line out of the antifreeze tank." His Saab might be different than mine, an '87 900T, though.
The job is no picnic, but others who post on here, using my directions and the advice of others who've done it, have managed to replace their waterpumps themselves in under an hour. If it's your first time, it might take longer, but you can do it.
