Has she got any common sense? I can understand not being concerned with a ticking noise. But when the ticking turns into a loud thump and she suspects that her muffler is dragging, shouldn't she have at least pulled over to see what was going on under the car? Then to ignor the temp gauge going into the red for 10 minutes of driving!!!! Unthinkable! She is driving a 14+ year old car--even in a new car, her behavior would be absurd.
It truly is too bad for the car, especially if you put a lot of sweat equity into it before she got it. However, the car has gone off to a much better place, if it is no longer in the hands of someone who would mistreat it so.
