oooookay!
Fixed the time delay relay by replacing the 1n4007 diode.
-NOW-, with car running and a/c on:
The passenger side fan (a/c fan) works, either when I jump the thermal switch, or after the engine is warmed up. No a/c though.
Jumping the a/c low pressure switch does nothing. The in-hose relay is shorted as it normally should be. Fuses are definitely good.
If I manually activate (not jumping/shorting out) the a/c relay, both the a/c and the a/c fan work.
If I manually activate the a/c fan relay, the same thing happens.
However, if I jumper in 12 volts to pin #85, then voila! Everything works, without shorting anything else, and on a cold motor.
The bottom side of that a/c fan relay has a blue wire coming off of pin #85, and it goes down to the bottom of the fuse box cavity, through the fender well, and into / under the dash. Where does that wire go? What gives that wire the needed 12 volts to activate the relay?
Thanks,
"No Manual" Fred
p.s.
In the mean time, I've got an empty relay socket that says it's for DRL's. No relay but the DRL's work regardless. I'm going to take the power lead from there and run it over to the a/c relay. That should give me both fans and the a/c while the key is on. Hope there's no major consequence of doing this . . . :-)
