City mileage won't suck... Posted by Jon [Email] (#11) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jon) on Mon, 5 Nov 2001 14:03:11 In Reply to: Re: how will this effect mileage at cruising speeds?, burlyb, Mon, 5 Nov 2001 11:01:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
...unless you are like my friend's grandmother, who has a nintendo like driving style, shes either flooring it (well close to it, i'm not joking) or she isn't moving, she hits it hard, coasts, floors it again when speed drops and so on. THAT would cause worse city mileage but otherwise the computers will limit flow, the dif. if when hitting it hard, the will keep the engine from running lean on the cylinders that don't get enough fuel under heavy loads which can happen when the car is tuned. I'm currently running a 2.8 bar which is what came with the Red Box APC that my car came with back in '90. I have the group 6 2.5 inch exhaust, k&n intake, and my apc was tweaked by spg9 to stage one specs (according the # + letter combo on the side of it, as all this was done by the previous owner). I don't drive too hard and my car has only 95k on it, so everything is running great, and my mileage is fairly good.
