Happy Thanksgiving to all.
I have 2 '87 900 turbo's, a convertible and a non convertible. I just replaced the clutch in the non conv and took it for a test drive...WOW. I thought my conv was fast but the non conv is incredible (I didn't remember this from about 8 months ago when I parked it), the turbo gauge goes way into the red (almost pegs) and it actually seems as if the engine is overcoming the grab of the new clutch.
Can anyone help in in explaining what the difference between the two are. The conv has 155k mi and the non conv 142k mi. I tried putting the APC box from the non conv into the conv and it actually slowed the conv down ( I was thinking there may have been a mod to the APC before I bought it). I don't notice any other mods to either engine, both appear completely stock.
I am wanting to sell the non-conv but have a few other repairs to make to ensure it is roadworthy but was wondering if there are some parts I could steal from the screamer that may speed up the convertible.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have.
