My first Saab 84 900T with four snows going down the PA turnpike from Breezewood, ca 1986. Turnpike cops closed it behind me at Breezewood twenty minutes later. Cars/trucks going conga line in right hand lane, anywhere from 6-12 inches of Pennsylvania paste on the road and still coming down. They're down to 20 mph and I'm running 55mph in the left lane, throwing up a 30ft roostertail and I can't see squat out the rear view mirrors except for this audi quattro that pulled out behind me and ran in my tracks.
Kind of sporty...I can feel traction switching between left and right front wheels if I go faster, so hold it at 55. I think it was the fwd that kept the car so stable...all the rear tires had to do was control the rear...if it was a 4x4 it would have gone off the road (saw several 4x4's in the ditch on that trip, go figure!) Every once in awhile somebody would try to pull out into the left lane, usually ahead of me far enough to slow down, but they invariably pulled back into the right lane. Only car that kept up was the audi...and he was following my track.
