My 92 900S conv seems to be having some irritating, but not critical, problems.
Question 1: Interior lights, central locks and alarm.
I got the car in 1999 and the interior lights and central locking never worked. And since the alarm works hand in hand with central locking... that doesn't work either. Not a huge deal, and I got the car (otherwise mechanically and aesthetically sound) for a good price. At any rate, I wasn't too bothered by the lack of functionality in this regard. About a year ago, I asked the dealership (doing my inspection) for a preliminary assessment of the problem. Since the applicable fuses checked out, he guessed that a wire problem. But he said that following the wires would take up to three hours and estimated the bill to be at least $165 in labor. For that much, I can live without the inside lights and automatic locks. But is it really that tough to figure out? Can I personally do it without major hassle? And once I do have it fixed, where can I get an alarm remote?
Question 2: Foglights.
The other day I pulled up to the front of a store. I looked at my car's reflection in the window and realized that my fogs were not on. I pushed in the button and they went on... but only if I hold the button all the way in. The moment I lessen the pressure on the button the lights go out. Any thoughts...?
Question 3: My front, left window.
I pulled into a drive through, pressed the switch and... nothing. My front, left window won't go down. All the other windows are fine. Sometimes (in the "good ol days" when the window worked) I noticed that it would stay in the automatic down or up position. So that when I went to put it up or down, I would have to rock the switch back to the central position, wait a few seconds and then try again. Could this have happened this last time, and burnt out something for good? How can I fix it?
I think that's it for now. I apologize for the length of this post, and thank you in advance for your advice.
