Just happened to me too, but mine was the ignition cylinder. Do you feel a change in the amount of resistance? Mine does not start but turns all the way to the right without as much resistance as normal.
I would bet that the problem is not the ignition switch but the ignition cylinder. Either way if you take the drivers seat out and carpet, you can gain access to the ignition switch. You will need a special saab socket to get these theif-proof bots out, but I was creative and took a 10mm socket and cut it with an exhaust grinder and made the socket.
The bottom of the ignition switch can easily be started with a big screw driver. If the ignition switch itself is busted, you could probably hot wire it after some investigation of the wiring. There are about 6 wires that go in the switch, and as you turn it right, it activates more circuits. One of them is the buzzer, fuel pump, etc. If you are good with electronics and can splice wires I would go for it. You could also call around some parts places and find a switch and replace it yourself. It just depends on how much you feel like pulling the carpet (youll need a torx bit) and drivers seat (hex bit) and that special saab socket.
I have mine apart right now and can take some pics with my digital camera if you decide to rip it all apart. just let me know.
Rob
