900 3-door Sound System

I've got an '86 900 Turbo with an SPG kit... really sweet car, just doesn't have any sound system at all.
I do have some apprentice-ish knowledge of more mainstream audio systems: 6x9's, etc, and already have the deck (Nakamichi in-dash 6 disc changer, 40x4 watts) but know little of what speakers to look to buy.
The guy who sold it to me made a cutout for a 12-inch sub in the luggage compartment so I don't need to worry too much about bass, but any suggestions as to a good pair of speakers for the rear, a good set for the dash, amps, and also any ideas on where to mount a pair of 6-inch or so speakers would be greatly appreciated, as well as any info on annoying little quirks unique to the 900 i may encounter. It also has the factory Clarion EQ installed.
I'm not looking for a "feel the bass for 6 blocks" system; I'm more into 60's rock and mid-90's alternative than rap.
